Literary and Creative Translation

If you’re looking for a translation that reflects the unique magic of your source text, I can craft one for you.

I’m a skilled translator of idiom and wordplay, sensitive to the specific voice(s) of each text that I translate.

I have many years’ experience translating poetic prose, literary fiction and non-fiction, subtitles for films and TV dramas, video-game content and interactive-fiction games from French and German into English.

You are very welcome to send me the details of your project: I’d be delighted to hear from you.

Publications and Prizes

At the end of my MA in Literary Translation at UEA, I was lucky enough to be awarded BCLT Prize for Best Dissertation. My dissertation was a translation and commentary that focussed on the wordplay, musicality and intertextuality of Elfriede Jelinek’s Am Königsweg (On the Royal Road).

I also enjoy creative writing and making cryptic crosswords, both of which share transferable skills with the art of literary translation. Sometimes I combine all three and ‘translate’ texts into cryptic clue poems.
